This edition has been prepared to cater for orchestras which are not specialists in 18th century music. All of the dynamic adjustments and slight shortening of note lengths are designed to help achieve a more transparent and ‘light’ sound when played on modern instruments. The small crescendo and diminuendo markings help to bring out the suspensions and make them sound more effective.
